The mission team at Mabel First Lutheran Church has a passion to reach beyond the walls of the church and support the needs of all God's people. The team launched its first series of mission projects in Fall 2014. Through the visionary leadership of this dedicated team, a new mission project is selected to receive support from our congregation each month from September to May (except December). Mission projects are introduced on "Mission Sundays" and a special offering is collected by the congregation during worship.
The mission team has raised support for people locally, nationally, and globably. Ongoing support has been given to the Mabel Area Food Shelf. In September 2015, a clothing drive called "Warm the Hearts" was also started for children in the community. Mission support has been given to churchwide ministries such as the ELCA Malaria Campaign, ELCA World Hunger, and the Women of the ELCA. Addtional Christian ministries or charitable organizations to receive support have included Operation Christmas Child, Midwest Mission Bible Training Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Heifer International.
May God be glorified through the compassion and care offered by our congregation.
